When my wife asks me to come along and shoot video while she shoots photography, well I’d be a fool to say no. Commissioned by Lovecat Magazine, a cool model fanzine based out of New York…
Earlier this year my wife joined forces with the savvy entrepreneur of thelane.com, Karissa Fanning, wife of Mick. Together with Johnny Abegg they created a short film called L’Amant for The Lane’s Dream Wedding launch. Featuring the ambient and amazing song July that has received tremendous feedback. YL is coming to Australia for two shows and you don’t want to miss this 22 year old multi instrumentalist Trevor Powers in action. For tickets go here (Sydney show is selling fast) and for the FB event page check here. Spin Magazine has named The Year of Hibernation one of the best albums of the year.

Our fashion film on Anja Konstantinova releasing this week on Lovecat.
Richard and I have been collaborating the past year on some fun projects…more to come in 2012. Here’s some insight into the mind behind the Most Wanted Series featured in V Magazine.
We are big fans of Years around the Sun…and this video shot outside NYC and in Byron Bay was inspired by one of our favorite songs that also featured in Castles in the Sky.
A few months ago my friend and artist Richard Philips asked if I wanted to co direct two short pieces on Lindsay Lohan and Sasha Grey. Definitely a change from the norm, my D.P.’s Todd Heater and Alex Berger joined me and here’s the results of the collaboration. It was an interesting process that has led to some more upcoming projects in this genre and gave Todd the opportunity to shoot a series of Lady Gaga videos directed by acclaimed fashion photographers Inez and Vindooh. Both the Lindsay and Sasha shorts have had strong reactions, mainly in that the subjects can evoke a strong opinion from a culture that is obsessed with celebrities and media. One of the highlights of the shoot was the location- the iconic John Lautner house Chemosphere house. Bit of a nice change to work with actresses rather than acting surfers.
If you haven’t seen Lovecat Magazine, definitely check it out. Promise you won’t be disappointed. Available at Opening Ceremony or Colette, a Lindsay Lohan still from our short film with Richard Philips and Todd Heater made the cover. Also check frequent collaborator and evil twin Todd Diciurcio’s interview with Melissa George.
